The Iranian Journal of Public Policy promotes transparency, reliability, reproducibility, and research integrity by encouraging authors to provide clear information about the data and research materials used in their studies.
Where feasible and subject to ethical, legal, confidentiality, and intellectual property requirements, authors are encouraged to make the data and research materials underlying their articles accessible.
When research data have been deposited in a reliable and publicly accessible repository, authors may provide the name of the repository and the relevant identifier or access link in the article or in a Data Availability Statement.
The journal does not require authors to make research data publicly available when sharing the data is restricted or prohibited for ethical, legal, contractual, confidentiality, intellectual property, privacy, or third-party data-access reasons.
In such cases, authors should, where possible, clearly state the reason for the restriction in the article or in a Data Availability Statement.
Data containing personal, confidential, or identifiable information must not be publicly disclosed without complying with applicable legal and ethical requirements and obtaining the necessary permissions.
When a study uses data belonging to individuals, organisations, databases, or other sources, authors are responsible for complying with the applicable terms of use, intellectual property rights, citation requirements, and access restrictions.
The sources of data should be appropriately acknowledged and cited in the manuscript and, where applicable, included in the reference list.
Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data presented in their manuscripts.
Fabrication, falsification, or deliberate manipulation of research data, including the intentional omission or alteration of data to produce misleading results or the misrepresentation of data collection or analysis procedures, constitutes research misconduct and will be handled in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policies.
Authors should describe the methods used to collect, process, and analyse research data clearly and sufficiently to allow appropriate scholarly evaluation and, where feasible, reproducibility of the research.
Where applicable, authors are encouraged to provide information on access to shareable datasets, computational code, analytical tools, or other research materials.
Where questions or concerns arise regarding the data, data-collection methods, or data analysis, the journal may request additional information or supporting documentation from the authors.
If serious concerns arise regarding the accuracy or integrity of data underlying a published article, the journal will investigate the matter in accordance with its publication ethics policies and relevant ethical guidelines.
Authors are responsible for complying with all applicable requirements concerning the collection, storage, use, protection, and sharing of research data. Authors must ensure that the use and disclosure of research data comply with applicable laws and regulations, research ethics requirements, participants’ rights, and the terms governing access to and use of data sources.
