Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism is the use of another person's words, ideas, data, images, or other intellectual work without appropriate acknowledgment or attribution, or presenting such work as one's own. The Iranian Journal of Public Policy is committed to preventing and addressing plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct.
Similarity Check
All submitted manuscripts are checked for text similarity before the peer-review process. The journal uses iThenticate to check English-language content and the Samim Noor system to check Persian-language content.
A similarity report is used as a tool to identify passages that may require further examination. A similarity score by itself does not constitute a determination of plagiarism.
Policy and Action for Plagiarism
The journal conducts a similarity check on submitted manuscripts before peer review.
- If the similarity report indicates a level of similarity requiring clarification or revision, the manuscript may be returned to the author for revision. The revised manuscript may be checked again before proceeding with peer review.
- If substantial plagiarism or other serious forms of academic misconduct are identified, the manuscript may be rejected without proceeding to peer review or revision.
- If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are identified after publication, the journal will investigate the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable publication ethics standards and relevant COPE guidelines.
Recommendations for Authors
Authors are expected to:
- Properly cite all sources and acknowledge the ideas, data, and other intellectual contributions of others.
- Provide complete and accurate bibliographic information for all references.
- Ensure that all sources cited in the text are included in the reference list and vice versa.
- Clearly identify and appropriately cite any verbatim quotations.
- Obtain permission where required to reuse copyright-protected third-party material and provide appropriate attribution.
